Event Title: IPC Hot Topics Roundtable: Optimizing Use of Topical Therapies for Psoriasis
Event Date: 02-10-2006
Short Description: Under the leadership of Professor Peter van de Kerkhof, IPC convened a group of ten psoriasis experts to discuss the optimal use of topical therapies for the treatment of psoriasis. A paper will be published soon that summarizes the resulting consensus.

Event Title: IPC Hot Topics Roundtable: Psoriasis Outcome Measures
Event Date: 02-16-2006
Short Description: Under the leadership of Dr. James Krueger, IPC convened a group of 15 international psoriasis experts to review existing disease assessment and outcome measurements and to design an optimal tool for use in research and clinical practice. The measurement tool resulting from the meeting will be validated in a pilot research study in 2007 with the hopes of launching a larger, international validation study by 2008.

Short Description: Under the leadership of Dr. Alan Menter, Dr. Craig leonardi, and Ms. Melodie Young IPC hosted a full-day psoriasis educational program for physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and nurses.

Event Title: New Horizons in Dermatology: Applying New Data in the Management of Medical Dermatology
Event Date: 06-20-2006
Short Description: Under the leadership of Dr. Alan Menter, a distinguished faculty of leaders in medical dermatology presented the most current data on clinical findings, outcomes, and future directions in the management of psoriatic diseases.

Event Title: Obesity in Psoriasis: Metabolic, Clinical, and Therapeutic Implications
Event Date: 10-03-2006
Short Description: Under the leadership of Professor Wolfram Sterry and Dr. Alan Menter, IPC convened 20 experts specializing in psoriasis, cardiovascular disease, liver disease, diabetes, and other relevant specialties to discuss the links between psoriasis, obesity, and other co-morbid conditions such as heart disease. The meeting included presentations of relevant new and existing data, a facilitated conversation to build consensus on key issues, and a planning session to advance research and understanding in this area. Drs. Sterry, Menter, and Strober spent the day following the conference formulating a White Paper with the objective of submitting a paper for publication to a major medical journal by December 31, 2006.

Event Title: IPC Handbook on Running Dermatology Clinical Trials - Writing Session
Event Date: 11-04-2006
Short Description: Under the leadership of Dr. Craig Leonardi and Dr. Kim Papp, IPC is developing a handbook on the "nuts and bolts" of running dermatology clinical trials with a focus on psoriasis clinical trials. The book will serve as the core of a curriculum to educate physicians and their clinical and research staffs about all elements of running efficient clinical research centers from budgeting, equipment, staffing, and legal considerations to managing relationships with the FDA, IRBs, and sponsors.
